Day Ninety

March 31, 2010

I tried a different tactic with Alexander today.  I asked him to close his eyes and then open them big and then I would snap the picture while getting eye contact.  Nope.  All I got was closed closed closed – openrealfast – closed closed closed all while saying “Cheese” really load.  He seems to think the half second of eye contact he gives me will be enough for me to get the shot I want.  He is really going to hate me by the end of the year with all my begging and bribing for pictures.

Day Eighty Nine

March 30, 2010

There is something about an overcast spring day and a willow tree.  The green just pops against the dark woods and gray sky.  I pass this tree every day on my way home from work and I had been hoping to be able to take advantage of a cloudy day to capture the beauty of the willow tree.

Day Eighty Eight

March 29, 2010

I asked Adam to bring some computer parts home to see if anything would work for a macro picture and sure enough, this one did.  I never noticed before just how intricate the parts looked.  There is so much detail and work (or at least I think there is) put into making the memory for a computer and you never get to see it.

Day Eighty Seven

March 28, 2010

Spring is my favorite time of year.  So much in bloom and so many beautiful colors.  Pink has always been one of my favorite colors and I just couldn’t resist getting some pics of this tree.  I only wish the trees kept their blooms until fall when there are more beautiful colors to see and photograph.

Day Eighty Six

March 27, 2010

It’s spring time and I am going to photographing flowers and trees a lot while they are in bloom.  I love color and the yellow mixed with the blue sky was just gorgeous.  I am starting a list of everything I would like to plant and have bloom in the yard of my next house.  I can dream can’t I?

Day Eighty Five

March 26, 2010

Adam bought Alexander a “Cars” tricycle.  Alexander picked it out even though he can’t reach the pedals yet.  He loves all the buttons and noises it has.  Since his feet don’t reach, Adam will take him to the top of our street and I will wait at the bottom and we let him glide down.  It is totally ruining his shoes, but he loves every minute of it.  And that is all that matters to me.

Day Eighty Four

March 25, 2010

My favorite feature on myself are my eyes.  They are hazel, but depending on the light or what I am wearing they can appear more green.  I am also the only one on my mom’s side of the family (which includes over 20 people) who does not have blue eyes.  I love that something so small can set me apart from everyone else in the family.

Day Eighty Three

March 24, 2010

My mom wanted to treat Alexander to a new pair of sneakers and after picking those out, he found these orange Crocs that he just had to have.  Of course after modeling them for us, he decided that he wanted a black pair instead.  And once he made up his mind there was no changing it back.  So while we didn’t get to take the orange ones home today, I may have to go back and get them for him to have this summer.

Day Eighty Two

March 23, 2010

When I left for work this morning, the sun was starting to rise and the sky was so colorful.  It wasn’t until I was sitting at a traffic light when I was able to really see how pretty it looked behind me in my side view mirror.  By the time I pulled up to the next light to try to get another picture, the pink shades had already faded away.  For once I was glad to catch the red light for this shot.

Day Eighty One

March 22, 2010

I asked the mechanic at work for some screws and bolts to have to play with for pictures.  He had a ton of them in a file drawer and let me take whatever I wanted.  I picked out a handful of various shapes and sizes, new and old and the rusted, used and very worn bolt photographed the best.  I love that you can see the flecks of rust embedded in the grooves.
