Day One Hundred and Seventy Two

June 21, 2010

Still feeling very much under the weather (having the flu is so stinking miserable), I was lacking creativity today looking for an object to shoot up close.  I ended up grabbing Alexander’s toothbrush and snapped a few pics before calling it a night.  I was just happy that I even remembered to take a picture.

Day One Hundred and Sixty Five

If it hadn’t been so hot out, I would have stayed on the beach shooting everything in macro.  The beach has so much great stuff that is just screaming to be photographed up close.  I loved just how close I could get to the sand and could see every grain.  Probably my favorite picture so far on this trip.

Day One Hundred and Fifty Eight

June 7, 2010

There was this fun little patch of clover in my neighbor’s flower box and I couldn’t resist snapping a picture.  While I have yet to discover a 4 leaf clover in my yard, I still have fun looking and taking pictures of all the 3 leaf clovers.

Day One Hundred and Fifty One

I got this shot while at Gloria’s for a cook out.  I love getting pictures of bumble bees.  They look so fuzzy and soft.  Since getting a macro lens, I have found a new love for bugs.  I don’t care for bugs at all unless I am trying to get a picture of them.

Day One Hundred and Forty Four

May 24, 2010

I found this little guy on this flower while trying to get a close up of just the flower.  I was pretty excited that I got him in focus.  But I also noticed he was a red ant and after getting the picture, I quickly moved from the spot I was standing in.

Day One Hundred and Thirty Seven

I can not get enough of my extension tubes.  I love them!  It gives everything a dreamy effect and almost creates motion within the blur.  My hydrangeas started blooming and I love all the pink at the front of our house.

Day One Hundred and Thirty

May 10, 2010

I am having way too much fun with my extension tubes.  I feel like I can capture more detail with them then with my macro lens.  I saw these little flowers while on a walk with my mom and Alexander and didn’t realize until after i was done taking pictures that there were thorns everywhere.  My shirt got caught and I had a tough time getting untangled.  Who knew picture taking could be so dangerous?  LOL

Day One Hundred and Twenty Three

May 3, 2010

While I would love to say this shot was my idea, it wasn’t.  I saw someone else try this on one of my photography blogs and had to give it a try myself.  All i needed was a pack of colored pencils, a glass and some club soda.  I love the bubbles and the colors.  It turned out perfectly.
